Czech glass beads are artisan quality beads, usually produced in Jablonec nad Nisou (a region in the Czech Republic, north of Bohemia). Jablonec nad Nisou has a long rich cultural history surrounding its jewelry district and glass production, dating as far back as the 14th century.

Picasso and other finishes: Some of our Czech glass components have a finish, such as the round beads of the bracelet below. The brown earthy touches that give some of our pieces a slightly vintage or distressed appearance is called Picasso. With frequent or consistent wear this finish may lessen or disappear over time leaving you with a final piece that is just as beautiful.

Gold-filled metal is a higher quality long-lasting alternative to gold-plated metal, and a more affordable alternative to solid gold. By law, 5% of a gold-filled component’s weight must be real gold, and this is pressure bonded to a base metal (usually silver, copper or brass). It is highly resistant to wear and tarnish, and will not irritate the skin of those who can safely wear solid gold jewelry. The best part is that gold-filled pieces can last a lifetime when properly cared for.

Silk cord is one of the materials we use to construct our handmade jewelry. While mostly hidden, a very tiny touch of subtly exposed silk cord matching the metal of the piece is one of our signature touches.
